Auntie Ba's Dollhouses

Our Lilliput Colonial Home

This house is our latest acquisition.  It is a gorgeous colonial home from Lilliput Dollhouses with additions in need of repair.  This house is quite large, it has 11 rooms and measures 60" w x 30" h x 18" deep.  The moment we saw this house we knew that this was going to be one we kept for our personal collection.  We started with basically "gutting" the interior of the home.  The wiring had some rooms that were not operational so we decided to remove all of the wiring from the home and run new tape wire throughout the entire house.  We also removed wallpaper and carpeting from the home.  After we completed the removal of the carpet and wallpaper we decided to renovate the largest addition on the home.  Instead of containing three rooms we removed the wall and the entire floor to make way for a large ballroom.  The staircases have been removed from the house to allow easier access for decorating.  The stock windows are being removed to make way for working windows.  Once we removed the windows we began to fill in any wall damage with wood filler.  The exterior of the home is painted a rich blue with ginger and white accents.  The gingerbread trim will be replaced with new more filligreed trim.  The shingles have been removed to replace the octagonal cut shingles with rectangle shingles.  We are currently finishing painting the accent colors on the exterior and decorating the interior with wallpaper.  We are purchasing fancy ceiling moldings and crown molding for each room.

Here is the house as it was when we purchased it.
